170 days to go! (almost 16 weeks)

I'm going into another stretch of night shifts so I'm doing my '16 week' post 2 days early.

I like avocados...

I added another pair of pants to the too small box the other day - I guess I'm growing! My weight hasn't really gone up the past month - normally I would be excited about that BUT Brennan was too skinny and I want this baby to be as healthy as possible. I've felt the baby move a few more times. Such a great feeling! Can't wait to feel them more consistently and without having to be sitting a certain way and almost holding my breath.

And my 15.5 weeks shot from last time:

(heehee - I love this pic! My clothes are hilarious - my painting shirt and some enormously baggy jeans)

I was reading my pregnancy journal with Brennan the other day and came upon this prayer that I found on the internet:

~Prayer for a safe pregnancy~

This life You have given us is so tiny, fragile, and vulnerable, safe in the womb of flesh & hope, yet subject to danger & death. O God, creator of life, hear our prayer. We want this baby so much. Please grant this child of ours a full term of nurture, the joy & mystery of life & the blessing of Your love. Grant us the fulfillment of our dreams, a baby to cherish & protect, a child to teach & guide, a blessing to our family. Amen. (Vienna Cobb Anderson)

*tickle tickle*

Last night at work I felt some little tickles on the inside of my belly....What a AWESOME feeling! I *think* I felt them again today but it could have been my mind playing tricks on me.
Sweet little one...

Lemon

Hee hee! Thought this was cute!

14 weeks

Friday is now my favorite day of the week. It's the day I am one week more pregnant. And every other friday is even better cuz I get to take my preg pic and do my 'weigh-in' (most people may not think that would be an exciting day - probably dreaded for most - but I love it!). I have a little chart that tracks my weight and it goes up by 2 week increments and so I decided that every 2 weeks I would weigh myself and take my expanding pic. I haven't really expanded from my 1st pic. Depends on how bloated I am that day I guess....:S

Anyways, here I am at week 14:

And last time at 14 weeks:

I'm not *too* far off of last time's size. I'm comparable to 15-17ish weeks last time right now. Not too bad - can't complain!

Another fun thing about 'Pregnant Friday's' is sometime during the day Brian and I read the weekly update in a pregnancy book I have. This week we read that the baby is 3-4 inches long and weighs about 2 ounces.
I'm really looking forward to being able to feel the baby move. My favorite time of day is at night when I'm lying in bed. I put my hands on my tummy and feel the *little bump*. It will be so great when little kicks and prods will be accompanying the ever growing bump!
Last night I was thinking about what I posted yesterday. God kinda put me in my place and reminded me to be THANKFUL for this pregnancy instead of impatient. God has blessed us with this AMAZING gift and I'm not enjoying it to the fullest - instead at times I'm rushing through it. I guess I just want to get through the unknown/wondering time of pregnancy and jump to the "woohoo! I've got a living/healthy baby in my arms!" part.
I have MUCH to be thankful for...

Impatient...

Ugh, Sometimes 14 weeks seems pretty far along - but when you've been pregnant for 13 months (with a 1 1/2 month break inbetween) & you've still got 6 more months....it tends to drag on. I asked Brian the other day if he feels like this pregnancy is going by fast or slow. He said slow. He was used to the stage where he could feel the baby kick/move. I guess when you start feeling the baby move and seeing your wife expand you can bond more with the babe. The first 1/2 of the pregnancy there isn't much of that.
For the most part I've been enjoying this pregnancy. A little tense at times (when you've got a stabbing cramp that lasts all day and everytime you pee you are sure there is going to be blood...) Physically I've felt pretty good. I'm still recovering from giving birth so I'm sure as the baby grows and adds pressure it might get a bit more sore :S I think I was nauseated for about 15 minutes ~ considering it was 1/2 hr last time things are looking up! I've been *REALLY* tired this last week. I'm not sure if it's the baby stealing all my energy, my nasty cold, or my possible anemia that's the culprit. If it's the baby I don't mind at all... but I thought after the 1st trimester you're supposed to feel better? I think I'm feeling better today tho - my head and eyes would close if I let them but my body is recharged a bit. Might go for a walk - fresh air might help.
I've been pretty scattered today. Was reading a few blogs. Cried a bit. Got excited. Somedays I'm so confused as to how I feel. Brennan is still so real and painful but this new life brings me hope. God's been good. Lots of peace and moments of healthy grieving.

Update

This afternoon I had a prenatal Dr's visit. Have I said how much I like my Dr yet? So good, so caring...
Everything is "perfecto" - as he likes to say with his south african accent. The heartbeat was 153 today and I'm measuring on for my dates.
He said I have a 'tipped' uterus. Usually the uterus is normally tipped forwards and mine is apparently tipped backwards. It usually doesn't have any medical problems so that's good to know. During pregnancy it tips itself the right way as the baby grows - which explains the back pain I had last time about now (so far my back has been pretty good).
He gave my some antibiotics for a nasty cold I have (which makes me even more tired - I had 2 naps today and am ready for another!) He said my hemoglobin was low and was a bit worried I wasn't gaining enough weight - at least I'm not losing weight like I did last time. He booked some bloodwork for me and reassured me he wasn't too worried - just wanted to double check.
Other than those minor things he was really happy with how things are going. He told me my ultrasound results were good and he also said it was going to be a girl....I guess we'll see (he did add that he was only guessing).
Well, I'm off to work for a few hours.

My Favorite Sound!!!

Today was such an awesome day! ~ I got to hear baby's heartbeat! I used the doppler at work and found the heartbeat so I brought it home tonight to let Brian have a listen. What a GREAT sound! Brian never had an opportunity to hear Brennan's heart beat so I thought that I'd make sure he did this time. Today little one's heart was beating at 156 bpm.

Enjoy having a listen too! (don't mind my immature voice - I guess it's my excited voice):
